Financial Policy and Billing
Understanding Your Coverage:
At Moody Lactation Solutions, we want to ensure you have a clear understanding of your insurance coverage and what will be billed based on your appointment type.
Under the Affordable Care Act, breastfeeding support and counseling should be covered at no out-of-pocket cost to you — because you deserve to use the benefits you pay for. While some insurers have found loopholes around this requirement, that doesn't mean you are without options. Review our insurance policy to understand your coverage, and know that we are here to help you navigate your benefits.
Aetna and Blue Cross Blue Shield:
I am in-network provider with Aetna and BCBS and will file your insurance claims on your behalf.
However, please remember that insurance coverage can change, so it’s best to verify your benefits regularly.
Patients are responsible for any applicable copays, deductibles, coinsurance, non-covered services, or denied claims based on their individual plan benefits.
To confirm your specific benefits and costs, for an office or home visit with lactation services, reach out to your insurance company directly. We can give you specific codes that we use to verify with your carrier.
If your baby is on different insurance that is out-of-network, or doesn't have insurance, you will be billed $50.00 per visit for the baby as a cash patient.
*Denied or Delayed Insurance Claims: I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) & Aetna, but coverage is not always guaranteed.
If your insurance has denied or has not processed the claim within 60 days, you are responsible for the full visit amount as our self-pay rate.
Cigna and United Healthcare:
Through Wildflower (Cigna) and The Lactation Network (UnitedHealthcare/UMR), we are able to bill your insurance directly. Simply apply for benefits on our Book a Consultation page before your appointment. Your specific plan benefits and coverage will be provided by TLN or Wildflower.
* Cigna members will begin with a 30-minute initial telehealth visit, followed by an in-person office visit within a few days.

If you do not have insurance or have an out-of-network plan, you will be responsible for the full self-pay amount at the time of service.
